Our welcoming coffee shop is popular with both locals and those passing through or on holiday. Whether its a simple snack or a full meal it will be home made using our own and local ingredients. From breakfasts through to afternoon snacks, there will always be something on the menu to suit. Choose to sit indoors our outside in the courtyard.
Take the time to browse in the farm shop afterwards – most of the food on our menu is also available for you to take home. We also offer a take home service – the same high quality food, wrapped for you to take away – just ring ahead to order.
Home grown and home made
Just like the Farm Shop we pride ourselves on doing it ourselves – home made whenever we can. We know our customers can tell the difference. Our team in the kitchen produce a great range for the coffee shop – fresh scones every day, all the cakes and biscuits and a small gluten free range keep our baker busy.
Our meals and snack selection uses meat from our own farm, the breakfasts use our own dry cured bacon and award winning sausages, and our pies contain our own steak or mince. It’s exactly the same produce as we sell in the farm shop, so you can buy the ingredients to make things at home as well. All the meals are cooked to order to make sure things are as fresh and tasty as possible. It’s the little things that make the difference – our coleslaw is all home made, chips are hand cut and vegetables are freshly cooked.
The ingredients we don’t produce ourselves often come from local suppliers – eggs from Ingoe, milk and cream from Slaley, preserves from Newcastle, bread from master bakers Wrights and coffee and tea from Pumphreys and Ringtons in Newcastle. Again, loads of the ingredients are available to buy in the farm shop.
We have always tried to make things as easy as possible for our customers with limited mobility. There are two marked disabled parking spaces just beside the entrance to the shop with level floors to all areas of the shop and coffee shop. All of the toilet facilities are fully accessible and double doors allow easy access for wheelchairs. Just ask any member of our team if you need any help – we will happily carry bags to your car or move chairs in the coffee shop to facilitate wheelchairs.
Each day our chefs in the kitchen will be varying parts of the main menu to reflect the fresh produce available, special events in the shop or times of the year such as Christmas or Easter. Fresh home made soups change each day and new puddings pop up all the time so just check the box on above to find out what we have today.
